Rakshya Bandhan

The **Rakhi Bandhan Program (Regional to Regional)** is celebrated by the International Human Rights Commission and Council as a symbol of unity, protection, and social harmony among different communities and regions.

**Rakhi Bandhan**, popularly known as Raksha Bandhan, is a traditional Indian festival that represents the sacred bond of protection and responsibility. On this day, a sister ties a Rakhi (sacred thread) on her brother’s wrist, and the brother promises to protect and respect her throughout life. Over time, this beautiful tradition has evolved into a broader message of mutual respect, equality, and social responsibility.

The International Human Rights Commission and Council celebrates this program “Regional to Regional” to strengthen unity among different states, districts, and communities. The main objectives of organizing this program are:

1. **Promoting Brotherhood and Sisterhood:** To create emotional bonding and trust among people beyond caste, religion, language, and regional differences.
2. **Encouraging Women’s Dignity and Safety:** Rakhi symbolizes protection. The program spreads awareness about women’s rights, safety, and empowerment.
3. **Strengthening National Integration:** By connecting one region with another, the organization promotes harmony and cooperation across India.
4. **Spreading Human Rights Awareness:** The event becomes a platform to discuss equality, justice, peace, and fundamental human rights.
5. **Building Social Responsibility:** Participants take a pledge to protect each other’s rights and support social justice.

Through this celebration, the International Human Rights Commission and Council transforms a traditional cultural festival into a powerful movement for unity, respect, and human rights awareness across regions.
